Arctic Mermaid- Day 16

I decided I wanted to do an Inuit Selkie. Wikipedia describes selkies as:

Selkies (also spelled silkies, selchies; Irish/Scottish Gaelic: selchidh, Scots: selkie fowk) are mythological creatures found in Scottish, Irish, andFaroese folklore.^[1] Similar creatures are described in the Icelandic traditions.^[2] The word derives from earlier Scots selich, (from Old English seolhmeaning seal).^[3] Selkies are said to live as seals in the sea but shed their skin to become human on land. The legend is apparently most common inOrkney and Shetland^[4] and is very similar to those of swan maidens.^[5]

Simple Mermaid

So one of my close friends has been telling me that she has fallen out of practice of making art even though she loves it. In response I suggested a 30 day challenge. She chose a mermaids challenge so here is mermaid #1 a simple mermaid. My goal is to try a variety of styles and methods throughout this process. Just gunna keep it loose. Wish us luck.
